Darlings! You simply must join us for what is surely going to be the ants-pants event of the year! Featuring fifteen of the best up-and-coming creative things from around the joint, ‘The Social’ cuts the crap, with a bunch of innovative, cross-disciplinary works that interrogate what it means to be social beings (spread the word!).

Nick Dorey’s ‘Sweat lodge, (secret men’s business)’ will bring a life size sauna, blokes in ‘Y’ fronts, primal drumming and an overabundance of manly sweat to our (otherwise) civilised event.

Andrew Christie will be collecting phone numbers during the exhibition, not as an exercise in networking or sleaze, but as a way to further social interaction. Jot your number down, Andrew will get back to you after the beeeeep...

Did we mention that all the world’s a stage and if you want to see the show, you have to be the show (there’s no room for stage fright)? Kate Williams’ ‘Staged’ is an open platform on which unscripted social events unfold.

Where would the social be without the anti-social? Ellen Dahl presents a number of large-scale prints – portals into the cold and lonely world of ‘Cabin Fever’. Symptoms can include irritability, restlessness, paranoia, constant need for sleep and a desperate need to get outside (Quick, pass the chardonnay!). Be there, or be somewhere else! Frock up and be seen amongst the beautiful people at Verge Gallery.

Supported by the USU, SCASS and Verge Gallery.
